PEOPLE + PRACTICE CONGRATULATES CEO, DR. LEON KLEMPNER, ON APPOINTMENT AS PRESIDENT OF THE NEW YORK STATE SOCIETY OF ORTHODONTISTS

People + Practice is proud to announce that its CEO and co-founder, Dr. Leon Klempner, has been installed as President of the New York State Society of Orthodontists (NYSSO). Dr. Klempner was formally appointed during the Society’s Business Meeting on November 15, 2025, and will serve a two-year term.

A widely respected clinician, educator, and industry leader, Dr. Klempner brings decades of experience advancing orthodontic excellence while helping practices adapt to an increasingly complex professional and digital landscape. His appointment reflects a career dedicated to elevating both the clinical and business sides of orthodontics.

Dr. Klempner teaches orthodontics at Mount Sinai Hospital, Montefiore Einstein, and Harvard School of Dental Medicine. A Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, he operated two successful orthodontic practices on Long Island for nearly 40 years before retiring from clinical practice. Throughout his career, he has lectured nationally and internationally on clinical orthodontics and the strategic use of digital tools to support sustainable practice growth. His work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals.

In addition to his academic and clinical contributions, Dr. Klempner serves as CEO of People + Practice, a marketing and growth strategy firm dedicated exclusively to orthodontic practices. The firm helps orthodontists differentiate their practices, strengthen visibility, and grow strategically in a competitive, digital-first environment. He is also the co-host of The Golden Age of Orthodontics podcast, which examines the future of the specialty through conversations with leaders in education, technology, and private practice.

As President of NYSSO, Dr. Klempner will focus on advancing professional excellence, strengthening advocacy for orthodontic specialists across New York State, supporting members at all stages of practice, and expanding mentorship and engagement opportunities for early-career orthodontists.

Dr. Klempner will be working alongside Dr. Kenneth Cooperman, who was installed as Secretary, and Dr. Yon Lai, who will serve as Treasurer. Together, the officers will guide the Society’s strategic initiatives, oversee governance, and support educational, legislative, and member-focused programs throughout their terms.
